Dr Souleye Wade has more than 30 years of professional experience in mineral exploration, and training and research in Economic geology and Remote sensing. Before joining the Institute of Earth Sciences, Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (Senegal), as lecturer/researcher, he has worked for major companies including BRGM and COGEMA, carrying mineral exploration programs in Senegal, respectively on iron ore deposits and uranium prospects. He has extensive training experience and supervision of engineering and doctoral dissertations. He has also an excellent knowledge of governmental development programs in West Africa. He holds an Engineering Degree in Mining and Geology from the Institute of Geology and mineral exploration of Moscow (former USSR), a PhD in Economic Geology from the National Higher School of Geology of Nancy (France), and a State Doctorate thesis in Applied Geology and Remote Sensing from Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar. As International Consultant, he is involved in various studies on economic and social development programs in Africa. He is currently residing in Senegal.

Souleye is currently serving as Communications Officer of the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE).
