EVENT AfriGeoss Symposium 2016: EO for the Africa we want

A symposium 27 to 29 April 2016 in Zimbabwe offers an opportunity for experts in environmental and development planning, disaster risk reduction and food security to unlock the power of Earth observation tools to make better decisions. These areas of knowledge will be explored by experts at the AfriGEOSS Symposium 2016 through existing tools and governance structures as follows: (1) Towards a harmonized land cover for Africa with medium and high resolution in support of Environmental management. (2) Monitoring of tropical forests to measure report and verify deforestation and the effect on carbon gas emissions. AARSE 2016 CONFERENCE: Call for abstracts

We are excited to announce that the 11th AARSE International conference will take place in Kampala, Uganda from 24 to 28 October 2016. The theme of this conference, ‘Our Earth, Our Heritage: Harnessing Geospatial Technologies for Sustainable Development in Africa’, has been carefully chosen to emphasise the vital role of geospatial data and information in achieving the new post-2015 sustainable development goals (SDG). Researchers, professionals, educators, government officials, consultants, managers, students and other interested parties are hereby invited to submit abstracts and papers for oral presentations or poster displays to the organizers of the conference. CALL: Interest to host the 12th international conference of AARSE

The African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE) invites expression of interest from national institutional members and/or other organizations/agencies in Africa for the hosting/organization of the 12th Conference of the Association in 2018. Bids can also be received for the 13th edition (2020) and the 14th edition (2022). The conference is usually held in the month of October (of every even-number year). L'Association africaine de télédétection de l'environnement (AARSE) lance un appel d’intérêt de la part de membres institutionnels nationaux et/ou de la part organisations/agences en Afrique pour l'organisation de la 12e Conférence de l'Association en 2018. Les offres peuvent également être reçues pour la 13ème édition en 2020 et la 14ème édition en 2022.
